Mary Treacy O’Keefe. M.A.

After nearly twenty years in the corporate world, Mary received a Master’s Degree in Theology/Spirituality from the College of St. Catherine in May, 2002. She also has been trained as a Cancer Guide and as a Mind, Body Skills facilitator by the Center for Mind Body Medicine in Washington, D.C.

As a result of her own experience as a breast cancer survivor, Mary co-founded and is President of Well Within, a nonprofit holistic wellness resource center St. Paul, MN. Well Within provides low cost/free integrative healing support, services, classes and Outreach programs to people seeking healing of mind, body and spirit, and to anyone seeking overall wellbeing. A spiritual director, Mary loves to give retreats, workshops and presentations, including about her book, Thin Places: Where Faith is Affirmed and Hope Dwells. At Well Within, she facilitates an ongoing Integrative Healing Support Group for Women with Cancer. A portion of Mary’s book sales are donated to Well Within.

Awards

Mary has received awards from Soroptomists International, the College of St. Catherine, Speaking of Women’s Health and Medica, for her work at Well Within. In 2006, Thin Places was awarded Honorable Mention in the category of aging/death and dying by the national Independent Publishers Book Awards.
